The program states:

"At its November 19, 1998 meeting, the Council of Trustees of Clarion University of Pennsylvania unanimously approved a proposal by the Department of Education in the College of Education and Human Services to rename the Stevens Hall conference room (Room 212) the "Robert H. Baldwin Conference Room" to commemorate the life and contributions of the former distinguished professor and dean Robert Baldwin. In its proposal to memorialize Dr. Baldwin, the department noted these words of one of his university colleagues:

'All his life, Dr. Baldwin labored for the betterment of his fellow man. His remarkable intellect, his uproarious humor, his gifted speech, and his devotion to truth, goodness, and personal integrity ensured the success of his efforts. His legacy shall remain incalculable; his presence sorely missed.' "
