Scope and Contents
The program provides this information about Carlson Library:
"This modern, stylish library first opened its doors to the College community and to the local community on January 2, 1963. In addition to serving this immediate area, Rena M. Carlson Library is a State District Library, providing information, books, and reference service to the people of Clarion, Jefferson, and Venango counties, as well as DuBois and Sandy Township in Clearfield county. The Library is the west wing of a new, two-story, two-wing building. There are 20,000 square feet of Library area, with seating for 364 people. The Library's collection includes 63,000 volumes, 478 periodicals, and 25 newspapers. The potential capacity is 100,000 volumes. The College print shop and Library storage facilities are in the basement of this west wing. The other wing of this $1.5 million building is occupied by administrative offices, faculty office suites, classrooms, and the College Computer Center."
