Scope and Contents

The May 1999 African American Caucus Resource and Information Guide indicates that "the purpose of the caucus is to bring together, through collaborative efforts, African Americans, whose energy and knowledge will assist in effectuating true equality and diversity in the midst of a macrocultural environment."

In Fall 2015, the description of the African American Caucus on Clarion University's web site read as follows:

"The African American Caucus is a faculty support organization for students, staff, and faculty members that monitor behind-the scenes activities of the university. The caucus also sponsors educational lectures by visiting speakers and social programs for faculty, staff, and students."
