According to the 1989 edition of the library guide entitled, "Carlson Library:  Find Out What's In It For You,":

The "British Commonwealth Collection [is a] considerable number of publications related to the British Commonwealth [that] are available in Carlson Library as a result of a resource sharing agreement among the state-owned universities.  The materials are classified by subject and shelved in open stacks."
