According to the documentation in this series, "Dr. Chandler, President CSC 1937-1960, assembled this collection of 218 volumes prior to his becoming President at Clarion. The majority of the texts are 19th century Americana, with the earliest imprint in 1681 and the latest in 1910. The collection was donated to Carlson Library, December, 1975."
