This information about Carlson Library is provided in the dedication program:

Clarion University's new Carlson Library opened in the Spring 2002.  Built at a cost of $15 million, the new facility houses a collection of 300,000 books and periodicals, four state-of-the-art computer labs with 137 work stations, the university art gallery, and the Department of Library Science, a department in the College of Education and Human Resources (sic).  The entire building is served by a wireless data network as well as standard data ports.  Students may check out laptop computers for use in the library to access the wireless network.  The library's extensive menu of electronic databases offers on-campus and off-campus access to more than 6,000 professional journals and many subject-specific electronic information resources.  The Bell Tower, in the adjoining plaza area of the library now under construction, will also recognize the generosity of donors to the Investing in Futures Capital Campaign.  The new plaza will provide a link with Clarion's past and Seminary Hall's landmark Bell Tower.  A separate dedication ceremony, which will include placement of a plaque recognizing donors, will be held at a later date.
