Letter reads as follows:
Dear Guest and Delegate: Welcome to Clarion State College! We are pleased you have joined us in recognizing this important day in the history of the College. We hope you feel your participation will have contributed to the identification of the real meaning of this event in the history of the institution. Clarion has for many decades shared an important role in public higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and, like her sister institutions, is now in a period of rapid growth and change. The Centennial events have been designed to symbolize our past and to anticipate our future. There are many signs of expansion and change on the campus: new buildings in the process of construction or recently completed; rapidly growing faculty; curriculum revision and academic reorganization; a growing delegation of responsibility to the student body itself as represented by a student senate. We conceive this Anniversary period as a symbol of a century of educational progress; the event itself, an introduction to a new century of service to the people of Pennsylvania. Sincerely, The Centennial Convocation Committee
