Notes

  • Scope and Contents

This account was reported by Ben Huckabone and recorded by Hazel Sandford in Kane, PA, January 1969.

The folder contains a 6-page type-written version of the account, followed by Sandford's original hand-written draft. Page 6 of the type-written account indicates that Huckabone met Sandford at the Lutheran Home in Kane, PA, and "dictated this account of his life and the early lumbering industry in northwestern Pennsylvania" to her in January, 1969.

This account was later published in the January, 1973 issue of "Stepping Stones", published by the Warren County Historical Society. See the "Published Materials About Hazel Sandford" sub-series.
