The introductory section of the booklet provides context: "In the summer of 1989, a group of Pennsylvania educators participated in a U.S. Department of Education Fullbright-Hayes Group Project to Argentina through Clarion University of PA and the PA Council for International Education. During the six weeks they were in Argentina, participants learned information and gathered materials in regard to Argentina's history, geography, government, economy, literature, language and culture. Upon return to their school districts and universities, they were to serve as resource people and to share their insights and materials with other educators. This booklet contains examples of some of the knowledge, materials and lessons that have thus far been developed."
Brian Dunn is considered a co-author of the booklet, as he was one of the educators who participated in the group project. Other Clarion University faculty who participated, and are also co-authors, are: Saundra McKee; Ngo Dinh Tu, and Vincent Spina.
