A memo included in this folder provides context for the contents. It reads, in part:
"On Wednesday, September 17, 1986, the Clarion University Council of Trustees formally approved a new planning model for the University. This document spells out a number of important planning tasks and relationships. These include the rationale for long-range planning at CUP, the role of the Planning Commission in the planning process, the means for constituent input in planning, and the actual process through which planning is achieved on campus. The Planning Model represents an important step in the development of planning activities at Clarion. The model ties together normal long-range planning, operational planning, and departmental five year program reviews. Further, it specifies university-wide reporting of planning outcomes. Under the guidelines of the model, the Planning Commission will conduct its meetings in a public forum and the procedure for appointment to the Commission is identified."
The folder includes a copy of the Long-Range Planning Model, prepared by the Clarion University Planning Commission, dated May, 1986. Members of the commision: Daren Ayers; James Cole; Edward Grejda; Joseph Grunenwald, Chair; Thomas Matczynski; Glenn McElhattan; James Pesek; James Scanlon
