Description of the organization found online 9-10-2021:
The beginning of the creed of Phi Sigma Sigma states, "I believe a woman who serves is a woman who leads." We, the Gamma Gamma chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma, try to embody this idea in everything we do. We want to encourage each and every one of our sisters, to serve her local community, to serve her college campus, to serve her sisters, and to serve herself. On campus, we work to bring awareness and aid to our philanthropies as well as the other organizations philanthropies and community service endeavors. Locally, our philanthropy is Passages, the sexual violence agency in Clarion. We work to not only raise awareness of sexual violence through events such as My Little Black Dress (Doesn't Mean Yes), but through volunteering to become trained Passages advocates. Internationally, our philanthropy is School and College Readiness via the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation and its partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation. We try to raise awareness and funds to help ensure more people are able to receive a quality education.
In addition to our philanthropic and community work, we work to build each other up and provide a support system away from home to our members. We all come from different religious, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, but define ourselves not by our differences but our commonalities.
We are Phi Sigma Sigma, and we would love to meet you!
