Description of the organization found online 11-9-2021: Student Athletic Training Club is for the Athletic Training majors at Clarion. We fundraise to become better Athletic Trainers for the future. Every year we attend a conference called EATA which keeps Athletic Trainers up to date on concussion management, nutrition, how to communicate with an athlete, and other things like immediate care. As students, we want to provide our student athletes with the best healthcare possible, so to fundraise for events such as this we find it very important. Our career is very important to us, and to have this club is an honor because we would love for people around campus to know the importance of our club. As Athletic Trainers we attend every practice, scrimmage, and game of all the sports at Clarion. If you go to a game here at Clarion, there will always be a Student Athletic Trainer there. We put a lot of time and effort into our major because helping provide care to an athlete while also being their biggest fan is what we strive for. Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are board certified health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, coaches and parents. Certified Athletic Trainers can be found in various work settings such as secondary schools, colleges and universities, professional sports, hospitals, clinics, physician offices, sports medicine clinics, military and law enforcement, industrial and commercial, and the performing arts.
